Coronavirus COVID-19 Update

We know that many people are concerned about the latest Coronavirus and as a supplier, customer, colleague or friend to you, we would like to assure you that it is our priority to keep your welfare and safety at the forefront of our minds and daily operations.  We do not purport to have answers that you do not already have but we are actively monitoring the latest information from Government Bodies and the NHS on a daily basis to ensure we follow guidelines laid down and best practice at all times.

At the time of writing, we have and know of no staff from IBT or any of its sister companies reporting any symptoms of the COVID-19 Coronavirus.  Should this position change, we will immediately contact you by email to advise of the current situation.

 

IBT will continue to trade as normal but we have made some changes to our operations which will hopefully mitigate the chances of spreading the virus and these will include:

  • Changes to ticket signing process on sites and at Trade Counter (see over)
  • Changes to ticket signing process on sites and at Trade Counter (see over)
  • Hand cleaning products available on the Trade Counter at all times for use by all
  • Trade Counter cleaned by wiping down after each customer visit
  • Checked and updated all staff’s emergency contact details
  • Deeper cleaning of public areas until further notice
  • New Hand Washing signage and instruction in WC’s
  • Drivers supplied with cleaning wipes and latex gloves for use in cab and on sites
  • Initial and regular all staff meetings to discuss situation
  • Changes to customer loading process in the branch
  • Cessation of non essential visits by IBT staff or into the branch from external sources
  • Encouragement of online ordering and online paying for material
  • Instructed staff to refrain from shaking hands within the branch

Whilst we are hoping that it does not happen, we feel that we have the required plans in place for business continuation in the event of having large numbers of staff off at any one time through illness and we fully expect to continue trading without an adverse effect to our usual high standard of service.

Changes to ticket signing process on Sites and at Trade Counter

 

Until further notice,

 

Drivers from IBT will sign delivery notes following delivery with the name of the person on site that assisted with off loading the goods.  This signature will consist of a Printed Name, Date and Time that the material was delivered.

 

Account customers collecting goods from IBT’s yard, will be given the option of signing their ticket but our preference will be that they allow the IBT member of staff serving them to print their name on the ticket along with the date and time. 

 

We hope you work with us during this unprecedented time and understand the measures that we have decided to take to mitigate the risk while we carry out our daily works.
