About Alan

Alan has worked with IBT since its inception in 2002. In that time, Alan has performed in various roles, working his way from the Yard, to the Trade Counter, on to Supervisory roles to eventually being in charge of the day to day operations.

Alan feels that his experience over the years in these roles gives him a great level of knowledge which he likes to pass on to our customers.

If you need to know about Timber, then Alan's your man.

Outside of work, Alan is an outdoor type person who likes nothing better than to climb a Munro, do a bit of fishing, drinking a quality malt, walking and spending time with his wife Lisa and 2 kids, Liam and Katy.

About Gerry

Gerry has spent his career in the Builders Merchant industry, working for independent and national merchants for over 33 years, embarking on a new career with IBT in early 2018. Previous job roles included, Sales Office, Trade Counter, Assistant and Branch Manager, Key Account Manager, Sales Office Manager and Sales Manager for Scotland.

Gerry passionately believes in Customer Service and always puts the customer at the forefront of the operation. As well as service, he is also passionate about his team, their development and wellbeing, believing that this is fundamental to deliver first class Customer Service.

Gerry enjoys spending time with his wife Dianne and 3 kids, football, golf and a bit of running to keep fit.

About Michael

Michael has worked for IBT for over 15 years, joining from a door company in Falkirk where he spent 9 years. Michael has great knowledge on Doors, Floors, Timber as well as most other Building Materials.

Michael is overseeing two of the most important areas of the operation and is a great help to Kevin and the team.

Michael has a passion for football and debating but mainly likes to spend all of his free time with wife Beth and his dogs Tia the Rotweiller Cross and his new addition Rebel the Rotweiller. They also love a trip to the Highlands at weekends, especially Glencoe and the odd shandy.

He is also the champion artificial turf cutter at IBT and has been for the last few years running.

About Jim

Jim joined IBT in April 2018 from a contract insulation company where he had spent the last 7 years. Jim has worked in the industry for over 35 years in various roles within National and Independent Merchants.

Jim works on our Trade Counter and is an all rounder with a broad product knowledge gained over the years with different kinds of merchants.

Jim is a keen runner, along with his wife Jacqueline, and has completed nearly 20 marathons over the last 10 years, with his favourite being the London Marathon because of the unique atmosphere and the support of the crowd. Jim also loves spending time with his kids Cameron Caitlin and Joshua.

About Craig

Craig started in the industry nearly 18 years ago after joining a local merchant for a summer job on his school holidays. Craig’s father was a Builder Merchant for his whole career so Craig states that it was inevitable that he would follow in his footsteps.

Craig can specialise in Heavyside and Landscaping products has broadened his material knowledge at IBT, especially on the Timber side.

Craig is a friendly and outgoing person who looks to deliver strong customer and supplier relationships. He loves his football and likes nothing more than a day out with mates and Dad watching his team, with the odd libation thrown in for good measure.

Craig is married to Amy who works for a large national restaurant chain and father to Jackson, born in December 2020. Here’s to many more in the future big man!

About Keith

Keith ran the yard operation at IBT, having been promoted to this role in August 2017.

We are also delighted to announce Keith is now managing all aspects of stock internally at IBT and has made a huge difference in the availability and depth of products on offer.

Keith has a hands on approach with the team as well as being still heavily involved with transport and mechanical fleet as well as the internal operations of the branch through daily stock ordering and supplier liaisons. A good all rounder who is a real asset to IBT.

Keith enjoys most sports and losing his money at football bets. He is a keen golfer and plays off a handicap of 13 (aye right) at his local club in West Lothian where he claims to have the longest drive at the club. Watch out if your’e on his local course as he’s been known to cause a few injuries with his natural shank.

About Gary

Gary joined IBT in October 2018 from a local Plumbing and Heating Company where he spent a year on the ‘other side’ as a buyer. His previous role was with Plumb Center where he honed his skills for over 16 years learning all aspects of the Plumbing and Heating Industry which he believes has a lot of similar aspects to Builders Merchanting.

A local lad from Carronshore, Gary started on the Trade Counter before moving to the Contract Sales Offfice.He has added the ‘Building’ side of things to complement his knowledge gained on the plumbing side and is an important member of the team. His organisational skills, work ethic and services stands him in good stead with everyone.

Gary enjoys socialising with his wife Lauren, friends and family and shows his true self at our Christmas nights out but we’ve all promised him that what happens on those nights ‘stays on tour’. He keenly plays football regularly with friends and is an avid watcher of Falkirk FC for his sins. Also to be found in the odd Carronshore hostelry lol lol.

Stevie joined IBT in May 2021 having spent his career working internally and externally for various other merchants.

A local lad from Grangemouth, Stevie is pleased to eventually come home as he’s never worked in his home town before. Stevie’s strengths are without a doubt sales & timber and he never likes losing an order. Stevie’s knowledge is invaluable to the future growth at IBT and he has quickly established himself as an integral part of the team.

Stevie enjoys cycling, dog walking (Lucas – Collie Doodle) round Falkirk and Grangemouth, watching and debating football and golf. Stevie also claims he is the best darts player at IBT which will be put to the test at the next day out.

About Stephen

Stephen joined IBT in July 2021 having spent his career working at a local Sawmill for over 27 years.

Stephen honed his wide knowledge of Timber and Sheets during his career and has brought that wealth of knowledge with him to IBT. He is also keen to broaden his knowledge of our Heavy and Light side range which will make him a great all rounder and a real asset to our business. Stephen is a tidy worker who made an immediate improvement to our yard operations.

A local lad, originally from Grangemouth, Stephen is married to Anne Marie and loves spending time with his 3 kids, Lewis, Aiden and Lexi. Stephen also loves watching football, the odd tattoo as well as buying the odd designer label item but keeps the price a secret.

About Weronika

Weronika started with IBT in April 2021, initially as a shop assistant, helping us to receive and manage stock in our shop area. Through her friendly personality, diligence and good work ethic, Weronika has quickly moved in to a full time position on the IBT Trade Counter and delivers a great level of Marketing Support for the business.

Weronika studied at Art at college locally for 2 years so has also been a great help with Social Media, Merchandising and creative thinking at the branch. Weronika is also passionate about tattoos, piercings and looking after animals, particularly her pet bunny Rukia.

A winner of a Top 100 Achievers award in 2024 and the youngest of the office team, we look forward to looking out for and helping Weronika carve out a rewarding career at IBT and hope she stays with us for years to come and enjoys her time with us to the full.
