PALIO FLOORING - WHICH FITTING FORMAT DO I NEED?

Category: Doors And Floors
Published:

The format you choose may depend on the floor underneath (subfloor) that you are fitting onto or, the solution you are looking for.

Choose rigid core when…

You are looking for a timesaving installation option, that doesn’t require a large amount of subfloor preparation. Due to the rigid core construction a rigid core floor can be laid over uneven subfloors, hiding imperfections. What’s more, the acoustic backing reduces impact noise transfer to rooms below making it the perfect floor covering for shared accommodation or busy family homes.

  • You need a quick, simple installation with minimal downtime,
  • You need superior acoustics between floors,
  • You need to hide subfloor imperfections,
  • Your floor is still drying out such as new build developments,
  • You are working on a historic building with structural limitations or preservation requirements,
  • You need to install over an existing hard floor.

Choose loose lay when…

You need a speedy installation method that doesn’t require the removal or undercutting of skirting boards or architrave and can be conveniently fitted tight to the edge of the room. Ideal for playrooms due to the simplicity of lifting and replacing a plank or tile if it becomes damaged without the need to take up the whole floor.

  • You need a quick, simple installation with minimal downtime,
  • You need superior acoustics between floors,
  • Your floor is still drying out such as new build developments,
  • You need access to sub-floor utilities post-installation.

Choose gluedown when…

You are looking to personalise your floor with design strips and are unrestricted with your design or the size of your cut vinyl pieces because all planks and design strips will be bonded to the floor.

  • You want to create a completely bespoke, unique floor,
  • You need to fit flooring flush to walls or skiing boards with no expansion gap,
  • The installation will be conducted by a specialist floor fitter.
